Army Green Beret Danny Patton is a modern-day warrior fighting battles from tribal Afghanistan to his own living room. As the corrosive gears of war tear at his family, integrity, and soul, he is thrust into a final mission…one that reveals combat can be driven by vengeance or by love, depending on the price you’re willing to pay.
Last Out is a powerful one-act play drawn from the experiences of America’s longest war, told through heartfelt storytelling by a unique cast of combat veterans and military family members, exposing the unseen emotional and mental costs of war on our nation’s defenders and their families.

meet the team
Ret. Lt. Col Scott Mann spent 23 years in the United States Army, 18 of that as a Green Beret, where he specialized in unconventional, high-impact missions all over the world. Scott is now a public speaker & storyteller who began his acting journey with Last Out.
He is the author of several nonfiction books, including the instant New York Times Best-Seller, Operation Pineapple Express, a third-person narrative detailing the harrowing stories of the Veterans, volunteers, & Afghan Allies who navigated the US abandonment of Afghanistan in August of 2021.
Scott has presented on three TEDx stages & is a playwright who even starred in his own production, Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret, which explores the Afghan War & its unexpected impact on veterans. Partnering with the Gary Sinise Foundation, Scott brought Last Out to the renowned Steppenwolf Theatre & various locations nationwide, aiming to offer healing to veterans and families of the fallen while shedding light on the personal costs of the longest war in our nation’s history.
Michael Broderick is an American actor. After serving in the Marines with HML/A-167 from 1986-1990, the New Jersey native went to New York City & spent 10 years playing guitar in the never-quite-dead punk rock scene of Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
In 2001, Michael changed gears & began a successful voiceover career. One of his first gigs was a long run as the voice of Arm & Hammer. In 2004, Michael moved from New York to Los Angeles to pursue acting for film & television.
Michael is active in the military veteran space, as well, devoting time to several Veteran Service Organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for GallantFew.org & Veterans in Media and Entertainment.
His TV/Film Credits Include: He booked his first television role on the smash Fox series “24” starring Kiefer Sutherland & followed that with roles on “Justified” (FX), “NCIS” (CBS) & many others. One of the highlights of Michael’s career was playing Special Agent John Bowen in Season 3 of HBO’s “True Detective” alongside two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. More recently Michael performed a well-received guest-star role in the final season of NBC’s “New Amsterdam” & shared the screen with Chris Pratt in the hit series “The Terminal List.”
Nicole Bundy is delighted to be back onstage after several decades away. She began college with dreams of acting, but an unexpected pivot to science set her on the path to becoming a physician. She has a BA in biology from Vassar College and an MD, MPH from Yale University School of Medicine and Public Health.
After seeing Last Out in early 2025, she was inspired to become involved with Task Force Pineapple. She is thrilled that this opportunity arose and is honored to join the cast.
Nicole is the wife of an Army veteran who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and mother of 3. She is an active supporter of veteran communities and causes. Nicole is grateful for the support of her friends and family and dedicates this performance to all who serve.
Lenny Bruce is an American stage & film actor. He was born & raised in La Grange, Illinois, as Leonard P. Bruce II. He enlisted in the Army immediately after graduating from high school. With 23 years of service, he is a veteran of the U.S. Army & a former Green Beret.
He took part in several missions, such as Desert Storm & various unconventional warfare operations during the Global War on Terror. After honorably retiring from the U.S. Army in 2012, he embarked on an acting career.
As an actor, he pursued Theatre studies at Fayetteville State University. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he trained at the New York Film Academy, studied with Diane Charles at Margie Harbors Studio, worked with Doug Warhit at Castaway Studios, & learned from Greg Allen Williams at Actors Break Through in Atlanta, GA. More recently, he continued his education under Karl Bury & Larry Moss in New York City.
Joshua Berduo is a TV/Film Actor based out of Los Angeles, CA. At 17 years of age, Joshua enlisted in the US NAVY. He served 2 deployments with the VFA-103 Jolly Rogers onboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower for Operation Enduring Freedom. Active Duty from 2009 – 2013.
Joshua graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in West Hollywood, CA. He is also part of The Groundlings Improv group in Los Angeles. He has studied theatre & film with Anthony Meindl, Ivanna Chubbuck, John Rosenfeld, Brian Reese, & many others.
Joshua is excited to be part of The Last Out Cast, connecting his military experience & love for acting in one. He hopes to heal friends & family of military connections with his art.
His TV/Film Credits Include: ABC’s “The Rookie,” Netflix’s original film “XOXO,” & many national commercials throughout his career.
Perry is making his comeback to the stage after an extended break. Perry is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer. Before his service in the 5th Special Forces Group (The Legion) Perry had numerous roles in Theater & Film.
Perry was part of the 5th Special Forces Group invasion force, notably recognized as the “Horse Soldiers.” Perry continues the Special Forces motto to free the oppressed through his nonprofits AFGfree & 18series coffee company, both serve the Special Operations community & their allies.
His TV/Film Credits Include: HBO, Network TV & major motion pictures.
His Florida State University Theater Credits Include: “Extremities” (Raul), “Long Day’s journey into Night” (Edmund), “Father’s Day” (Tom), “Anatomy of a Murder” (LT Manion), “Death of Salesman” (Biff), “Of Mice and Men” (George), “A Midsummers Night Dream” (Puck) & the musical “Bubbling Brown Sugar.”
Kari Ellis is a retired Forensic Video Analyst/CSI who joined our team as the 2019-2020 Tour Manager of Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret while it toured the country. On our 2023 Last Out tour she acted as community outreach coordinator and team manager. She is now the Last Out and 11 Days Tour Manager as well as a producer in both productions.
Kari is a former military spouse whose husband served 22 years in the military. After 24 years together, she lost him to suicide in 2017, a loss that profoundly shaped her journey and advocacy. She now devotes her time to helping other first responders and veterans find their voice and learn to heal through storytelling. Having been a first responder and a military spouse allows her to understand the stresses of serving in high-profile positions.
Jason Cannon is a best-selling author and publisher, as well as an award-winning director, actor, playwright, improviser, and teacher. He has an MFA in Directing, an MA in Drama, and a quarter-century in the professional theatre.
Jason has 100+ credits as an actor, 120+ as a director, and as a playwright he has had nine plays produced. Most recently he wrote, directed, and published “Clowns Like Me” (www.ClownsLikeMe.com) for Lifeline Productions. This critically acclaimed one-man show based on true stories of living with mental illness ran Off-Broadway during the summer of 2024.
